Label directions and safe use

Handlers must read or be informed of all labeling requirements and use pesticides only in a way consistent with the label.

Hazards of handling activities

Mixing, loading, applying, cleaning equipment, disposing of pesticides, and handling contaminated items can create concentrated exposure risks.

Correct PPE

Use all label-required PPE. Inspect it before use, wear it correctly, and replace damaged equipment.

Removing PPE safely

Remove PPE in a way that avoids contact with contaminated surfaces. Wash before eating, drinking, smoking, or using the toilet.

Handlers must temporarily suspend an outdoor pesticide application when workers or other persons are in the application exclusion zone as required by the WPS.
